Yes Lord, Give Me Wisdom!

Another one of my favorite Psalms is one that speaks to me of wisdom:

Lord, you have always been our eternal home,

our hiding place from generation to generation.

2 Long before you gave birth to the earth
and before the mountains were born,
you have been from everlasting to everlasting,
the one and only true God. Psalm 90:1-2 (TPT)

Before we, or. any other one of mankind was ever thought of, God WAS! He is the only One that WAS, that IS, and that IS TO COME! Trying to understand this mystery is useless without a born-again conversion. As mankind, we are too limited in our thinking, there are scales on our eyes that prevent us from grasping the multifaceted God that shapes the vast universe and yet carefully creates a tiny ant! The God who in His infinite majesty can sculpt the vast Himalayan mountains, and yet with the finest of strokes paints a rainbow in the sky. When you find out just who HE is, you can’t help but pray:

Help us to remember that our days are numbered,

and help us to interpret our lives correctly.
Set your wisdom deeply in our hearts
so that we may accept your correction.
13 Return to us again, O God!
How much longer will it take until you show us
your abundant compassion?
14 Let the sunrise of your love end our dark night.
Break through our clouded dawn again!
Only you can satisfy our hearts,
filling us with songs of joy to the end of our days. Psalm 90:12-14 (TPT)

Most or our lives we live as if we are going to live forever, giving no thought to the consequences. We make decisions based on our limited understanding, not considering that there are those who know more than we who could help us. We say we pray, but most of the time that prayer. is offered to only bless what we have already decided. We shun. correction, avoiding dealing with it as long as possible.

Yet,  the all-loving God that longs to have fellowship with us, is always there. wanting us to receive His compassion, to turn our midnight into day.  To breathe the blessings of joy and refreshing upon our hearts. The. Psalmists were able to put into song the cries of our hearts, we have but to offer those words back to God and watch as He answers our humble cries.

Let us see your miracles again, and let the rising generation
see the glorious wonders you’re famous for.
17 O Lord our God, let your sweet beauty rest upon us
and give us favor.
Come work with us, and then our works will endure,
and give us success in all we do. Psalm 90:16-17 (TPT)

Father, this is my prayer, my hope, my expectation…may I have Your wisdom to live out this life You gave me.
