I’m Not Trying to Figure It Out!
We are now well into the second month of our now normal life – social distancing, no public gatherings, no entertainment or exerciser, no salons and beauty shops! Even though it is said that twenty states will reopen May 1st, for most of us the end is not in sight. We are looking at another month at least before we will be able to even attend church. All kinds of e theories have suffered. There is not anyone who doesn’t his disease have least an opinion or a fail-safe plan to avoid the coronavirus. The complications involved with this disease have forced me to say, "I"m not trying to figure it out"! As complex a situation as this disease has caused, I still contend that God is in charge and He will still bring good of this:
1 He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 (AMP)
oAs the teacher says in Ecclesiastes, most of us in mankind cannot "comprehend (or) grasp what God has done". WE spend most of our lives trying to figure out what we want to do, who we want to be, what will make us happy. We fail to understand what Jesus so simply said:
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40 (KJV)
Jesus knew that the secret to being fulfilled was to meet the needs of someone who couldn’t meet your needs back. Scripture after scripture attempts to point us to giving to others:
