This Says It All!

​There are some days while scrolling through different devotions and Bible for a day entries that a verse just speaks to you. Such was the case for me today;

I am passionately in love with God because he listens to me. He hears my prayers and answers them. As long as I live I’ll keep praying to him, for he stoops down to listen to my heart’s cry. Psalm 116:1-2 (TPT)

This verse says it all! Why do we really love God? Because He first loved us. It is the way God has demonstrated His love towards us that causes us to love Him more. Yes God demonstrated His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. We can accept this on a conscious level. However, it is when we realize that we’re not just talking about eternity. We’re talking about every day God showers us with His love. How do we know that – God actually listens to us. He actually hears our prayers, and He actually responds to them. In fact as the Psalmist says above, "He stoops down to listen to my heart’s cry"!

Imagine that. We serve a God that "daily loads us with benefits"! When you experience love like this, it is a hard heart that does not respond in kind. You will find that over time you, like the Psalmist will say, ​"I am passionately in love with God"​.
