God is Already There!
One of the attributes of our omnipotent God is HIs ability to not only see the end from the beginning, but to be there as well.. Time as we know is is irrelevant to God. What we spend countless hours worrying about, trying to fix, and otherwise control the activities of our lives, are inconsequential to the plan of God. What we can do is to run outside of the will of God and miss the "BEST" way to get to our destination. For you see God’s plan has a plain path that will lead us to a fruitful end:
11 For I know the plans I have for you," says the Eternal, "plans for peace, not evil, to give you a future and hope—never forget that.Jeremiah 29:11 (The Voice)
Right now we are in the midst of one of the most divisive periods our nation has seen since the days of the Civil War. People are falling out with friends and family over something that we cannot control. None of us know what the outcome of the 2020 election will be. We can only know that which we can acknowledge – how we vote(d).The good news is that no matter who the victor is, God is already there. He knows the future – and while God is not controlling the election, He is able to help you live with the results! Our hope and our trust cannot rely upon a political party, it must be centered on the finished work of Jesus, our Savior. A Savior who loves us and wants the best for us.
This is not to say that we should not be informed of the issues at stake, or the views of the particular candidates that we go to the polls to give our vote. What it does mean is that if your particular candidate does not win, that will not be the end of all things. There is still time in the few weeks ahead to take seriously some of my favorite scriptures that do point to government:
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. Proverbs 29:2 (KJV)
14 That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets.
15 Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.Psalm 144:14-15 (LKV_
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authorityin all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; …1 Timothy 2:1-4 (KJV)
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
The king‘s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.Proverbs 211 (KJ )
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:6 (KJV)
