There Is a Way You Can Know!
We have heard for years that there is coming a day when God will separate the wheat from the tares. That He will remove all the life draining weeds from the pure wheat so it can grow healthy and strong. Until then, is there a litmus test to determine those who are really believers and those who are not? I contend that there is:
5 This is the message [of God’s promised revelation] which we have heard from Him and now announce to you, that God is Light [He is holy, His message is truthful, He is perfect in righteousness], and in Him there is no darkness at all [no sin, no wickedness, no imperfection]. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness [of sin], we lie and do not practice the truth; 7 but if we [really] walk in the Light [that is, live each and every day in conformity with the precepts of God], as He Himself is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another [He with us, and we with Him], and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin [by erasing the stain of sin, keeping us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations]. 1 John 1:5-7 (AMP)
Who better to let the second generation AD of Christians know what a Christian looks like, then one who actually walked with, talked with, lived and learned from the Christ.
I used the Amplified to clearly make the distinctions of what a real believer looks like. The first thing to settle is that God is light, and in that light is truth and righteousness. There can never be any darkness in God, never any sin, any wickedness, any imperfection. If we acknowledge that we are a believer than we not only have fellowship (intimate relationship) with God, but we have that kind of relationship with other believers. We no longer make sin at home in our heart, neither do we lie and pract ice those things that are lies. We live as Jesus lived, every day we walk in the light, in step with the very precepts of God. We have true fellowship with God, we have true fellowship with our brothers and sisters. Should we find ourselves sinning, we quickly repent and the blood of Jesus not only forgives us but cleanses us from sin in every form and manifestation.
Best of all we quickly forgive and forget – because our inner self let us know love is an action word!
