The Right, The Left, or The Righteous!
In the United States we have basically two large parties that garner enough votes to contend for available political positions. Generally speaking the Democratic Party tends to be more liberal in their policies, while the Republican Party tends to be more conservative. Both parties feel that they are right. The very future of our nation depends upon something creating a bridge for these very diverse groups to come together and find commonality at least as an American citizen. The problem is, who really is right? Could it be that there are major areas of truth and major errors of judgement in both parties and neither of them are right without the other? Could it be that the only way we will resolve this great divide is for something outside of our human capacity to bridge the gap?
Paul wrote to the Ephesians and admonished them in saying;
And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people), Ephesians 1:18 (Amplified)
Oh that we would get a revelation that all of us need our eyes enlightened; that all of us need to have revealed to us the "glorious inheritance" that God has laid up for every baby born of man. For if we could see ourselves as God sees us, we would understand that we are part of a bigger picture, where no one person, no one party, no one nation can fulfill all that God has in mind for a generation. We need God. We need each other.
An erupting is taking place just below the surface of this world. It is stretching wider and getting louder – in the midst of the Covid virus and its’ devastating effects we are missing just how much damage an explosion it could cause. We are going along as if we are so good at what we do in this nation that nothing can cause it to crumble. Yet, the very foundation is being shaken by the hatred being generated by people from both sides who lack discernment, and who lack love for their fellow man. Scripture tells us:
For look, the wicked are bending the bow;
They take aim with their arrow on the string
To shoot [by stealth] in darkness at the upright in heart.
3 "If the foundations [of a godly society] are destroyed,
What can the righteous do?" Psalm 11:3-4 (Amplified)
The resounding undercurrent are the wicked, and they are not going for the worst of society, they are aiming at the best. If they are successful in striking the foundation, what can the righteous do? Well, we see the answer in the next verses:
The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord’s throne is in heaven.
His eyes see, His eyelids test the children of men.
5 The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked,
And His soul hates the [malevolent] one who loves violence. Psalm 11:4-5 (Amplified)
The One who sees is in His holy temple – oh righteous one – pass your test, look to Him that sits on the throne not for four years, but as a righteous judge forever and ever.
