Anticipating!
We are now officially in the Christmas season. Little hearts are full of anticipation that their Christmas wishes will come true. Are you like that little one, hoping and praying that those things you have need of will come to pass? Advent is all about hope – hope firmly grounded in faith that "He will do it for me!":
4 And patient endurance will refine our character, and proven character leads us back to hope. 5 And this hope is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives in us
For when the time was right, the Anointed One came and died to demonstrate his love for sinners who were entirely helpless, weak, and powerless to save themselves. Rpmans 5:4-5 (TPT)
This is one of my favorite verses for although it is my experience in seeing God move in times past that keeps me hoping for things to come – it is still a glorious gift when the love of God flows through my heart through the Holy Spirit. It is an incomparable feeling – knowing that someone so majestic, so powerful, so almighty took someone like me and decided to live in me and make me better than I could ever imagine.
Thus the journey continues, with each new day, another opportunity to bring my petition before Him. Each day having the opportunity to anticipate how He will do it! Every day relishing the move of HIs Spirit upon my heart, casting out the rigid, unbending me and making me as pliable as putty in HIs Hands. We get this special treatment not only as a gift at Christmas, but all the year through –
A portion from Way Maker says it all:
...Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper
Light in the darkness (hey)
My God, that is who You areLet’s sing this together
Even when I don’t see it, come on, even whenEven when I don’t see it, You’re working
Even when I don’t feel it, You’re working
You never stop, You never stop working
You never stop, You never stop working (come on)…
