Abounding!

Last night I wrote two posts, and both posts disappeared into cyberspace. I spent more than an hour trying to locate what happened to them, with no success. I finally went to bed and said I would try it again in the morning. I came to the conclusion, someone didn’t want me to talk out hope!

Yes, my message is still on hope. While some would argue that this is not the most important thing we need today, I would argue to the contrary. There are many things in this world that are pressing for our attention, chief among them covid-19. While we appreciate the steps that have been taken to get a vaccine, even a vaccine will not be without questions: "when will I be able to get it"; "how much will it cost"; "should I take it or wait and see what happens to others"? Questions like these can generate doubt and even fear, even with what looks like a solution to a problem, there still needs to be hope in the vaccine!

The Apostle Paul felt that hope was so important that he said this:

13 Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope! Romans 15:13 (TPT)

Picture that, a fountain overflowing with so much hope that all who received the overflow radiated with hope and uncontainable joy! Now that is a prescription that our world needs today!

Hope renews, hope refreshes, hope restores, hope is eternal.. We can’t overdose on hope. We are lifted above our circumstances when our inner being is flooded with hope. How do we get it:

12 Let this hope burst forth within you, releasing a continual joy. Don’t give up in a time of trouble, but commune with God at all times. Romans 12:12 (TPT)

No matter what, talk to God, then let Him talk back to you. Never give in to what it looks like, ask God to show you what really is. Above all:

The Lord alone is our radiant hope and we trust in him with all our hearts. His wrap-around presence will strengthen us. Psalm 33:20 (TPT)
