The Greatest Exercise of Our Faith!

 There are hundreds of scriptures on faith, but perhaps there is none that exhibits the greatest pronouncement of faith we make, have but this one;

For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God. Ephesians 2:8 (AMP)

Whatever we do in this life, no decision is greater than making the decision to enter into a life of salvation from sin. As is so clearly stated above, it is a gift that cannot be earned, or given as a reward. It is a decision that one makes by faith and is given by God’s grace to all those who choose to believe on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God. Of all the decisions we will make in this life, there is none greater than this decision. 

This decision is the hallmark by which we enter through faith into a life of faith. A life where we follow the leading of the Lord, trusting Him to take us where we need to go, to do the things we need to do, in conjunction with the people that we need to interact with. Yet, we don’t respond like puppets. At every juncture on our journey we have the free gift of making our own decisions. Our Lord is a humble servant, awaiting our "yes" to His leading. If you stop and think about this for a minute, there can only be one conclusion – God has a tremendous amount of  faith, as He puts a great deal of faith in ordinary people to do extraordinary things.

Jesus told HIs disciples to pray, "thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven". This is a commission for all who follow after Him to take on the responsibility of building God’s kingdom on earth. Thus, no matter our intellect or natural gifting, if we are believers we have something to contribute to this assignment. And He wants us to say "yes’, no matter how we feel about it, all He wants from us is to enter into agreement with Him. Like the little red engine in the infamous children’s story, all He wants us to say is:

"I think I can, I think I can!

I know I can, I know I can!"

it’s not our job to take up the bricks and with skillful expertises build the wall; no our job is to take up the mantle of faith and say to God, "I’ll go…send me!"
