Lord Keep Us With Joyful Heart!
Every day the news gets more and devastating in regards to the Covid statistics. If you dwell on it more than minute, it can become downright depressing. Yet, that is the one thing we must fight with all of our might:
A joyful, cheerful heart brings healing to both body and soul.
But the one whose heart is crushed
struggles with sickness and depression. Proverbs 17:22 (TPT)
What sustains us in the midst of every and all adversity is a "joyful, cheerful heart"! This one thing brings "healing to both body and soul". It is so hard to remain joyful whens many people are suffering, yet joy does not depend upon our circumstances, or the condition of the world. Joy comes from Jesus residing in our hearts, freeing us from the penalties of sin and the calamities of this world. The reverse of that, a crushed heart will inevitability lead to depression and sometimes even sickness.
It becomes clear then that the best way to fight this scare is to live in the joyful sound:
We have heard the joyful sound:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Spread the tidings all around:
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Bear the news to every land,
Climb the steeps and cross the waves;
Onward!—’tis our Lord’s command;
Jesus saves! Jesus saves!…
Give the winds a mighty voice,
Jesus saves, Jesus saves;
Let the nations now rejoice.
Jesus saves, Jesus saves;
Shout salvation full and free,
Highest hills and deepest caves,
This our song of victory,
Jesus saves, Jesus saves. We Have Heard the Joyful Sound (verses 1 and 4)
