Growing!
For the past few days our website has been under construction. We have refreshed many of the features to make it more user friendly for our visitors. It is necessary to subscribe again if you want our daily LifeLines to come to your email. Thank you for your understanding.
In this fast-paced technological environment that we live in it is sometimes necessary to recalibrate. It is necessary in our lives too. Everything in God’s creation grows:
He who neglects and ignores instruction and discipline despises himself, But he who learns from rebuke acquires understanding [and grows in wisdom]. Proverbs 15:32 (AMP)
While none of us likes to receive correction or discipline, it is essential for our growth. None of us are going to get everything right, there are times where our lack of understanding causes us to blow it. If we go to our Father He will help us to see where we have erred and help us to gain the kind of understanding that will prevent us from future mistakes – in other words we gain wisdom.
Proverbs 4:7 says:
“The beginning of wisdom is: Get [skillful and godly] wisdom [it is preeminent]! And with all your acquiring, get understanding [actively seek spiritual discernment, mature comprehension, and logical interpretation. (AMP)
Which comes first, wisdom or understanding? In Proverbs 15 it appears to. be understanding helps us gain wisdom, and in Proverbs 4:7 it appears that wisdom precedes understanding. I reconcile this by realizing that wisdom and understanding are partners, one feeds into the other, whichever way they come. And with those things in tact we are able to have “spiritual discernment, mature comprehension, and logical interpretation:“. In an age where our culture does not seem to have a consensus on what is right and what is wrong, perhaps one way we can gain unity in this nation is to pray that these become necessary virtues for our citizens.

Amen! Praying every day for wisdom and discernment especially in these uncertain times that we live in. Even if I don’t get the understanding of something when I want it, I know that if necessary, He’ll reveal it to me in His time. If I don’t get the revelation, I’ll still Praise Him because HE KNOWS, He’s omniscient. And that’s good enough for me.
