What We Can All Do For the Next Generation!

As we look at our world around us we can’t help but wonder what will happen to the next generation. It seems as if we have mortgaged their future into a world that has no moral boundaries or restraints. What can we do? How can we insure that they will survive, let alone live the kind of life they are accustomed to?

There is one thing we can do for them that will guarantee that they have faith to face whatever future they will walk into:

You shall teach them diligently to your children [impressing God’s precepts on their minds and penetrating their hearts with His truths] and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6: has 7 (AMP)

None of us can foretell the future. In a moment the whole world can stand still; we found that out with the coronavirus outbreak. There are those who make predictions based on indicators, but no one but God knows for certain what will happen. What we can depend on however is a promise from our Father that when we trust and obey Him, He will order our steps:

¹³ “If you carefully obey the commands I am giving you today, and if you love the Lord your God and serve him with all your heart and soul, ¹⁴ then he will send the rains in their proper seasons—the early and late rains—so you can bring in your harvests of grain, new wine, and olive oil. Deuteronomy 11:13-14 (NLT)

As the contemporary gospel song goes,

Walking around these walls
I thought by now they’d fall
But You have never failed me yet
Waiting for change to come
Knowing the battle’s won
For You have never failed me yet

Your promise still stands
Great is Your faithfulness, faithfulness
I’m still in Your hands
This is my confidence
You’ve never failed me yet...
