If We Could Just Grasp This!

There is much debate going on today concerning who is actually a male and who is actually a female. These things should be obvious in the physical realm from the birth of a baby. Since it is hard to understand for some, maybe we need to look at Nicodemus question:

“What do you mean?” exclaimed Nicodemus. “How can an old man go back into his mother’s womb and be born again?” John 3:4 (NLT)

Nicodemus was confused as to what it meant to be ‘born again’ felt that Jesus was merely talking about our physical status.

Maybe that’s what’s wrong today. We are concerned to try to solve a spiritual problem by looking at a physical status. Maybe the real question is not your gender identity but your spiritual identity. Jesus replied to Nicodemus:

Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit.Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You  must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.”John 3:5-8 (NLT)

Jesus assured Nicodemus that a new physical birth was not the answer, the answer lay in a spiritual birth. Perhaps if we would understand that human beings are body, soul, and spirit and not concentrate on only one part of our being. Maybe it is not our body craving to be changed, as much as our spirit crying out to be born anew!

Maybe, just maybe we need to look at this simple verse in john 3:16 and find the answer to all gender confusion, sin confusion, brotherhood confusion:

16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (NLT)

If we could ever grasp this great love of God, all our questions would be answered – God’s love knew everything about us from the foundation of the world and He settled it before we ever drew our first breath – He has a plan for our life, a good plan filled with all the goodness He alone can provide.
