A Stimulus Message…
While the majority of eligible Americans are basking in receiving a stimulus check, I thought about a very special lady today:
41 Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large amounts.42 Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins.
43 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contribution. Mark 12:41-43 (NLT)
The stores are full of people shopping. That is a good thing for the economy, I’m not against that. However, in all our spending, have we considered what should be our first priority? Do we remember that just as Jesus observed that little widow woman, He observed all the other givers as well. Jesus assessed the situation and made a determination, that of all the ones who gave, this “poor widow has given more than all the others”.
I don’t have a long message today, just a question: “what would Jesus say about your contribution?”
