Are You That Woman?

We are winding up Women’s History Month and I thought it in order to think about the perfect woman that is described in Proverbs 31. While I would recommend the entire chapter for your reading, we are only including a portion here:

Charm and grace are deceptive, and [superficial] beauty is vain,
But a woman who fears the Lord [reverently worshiping, obeying, serving, and trusting Him with awe-filled respect], she shall be praised. Proverbs 31:30 (AMP)

While there are many women who do fit the attributes outlined in Chapter 31, this one verse can apply to every woman. Every woman can fear the Lord, every woman fill her days “worshiping, obeying, serving and trusting” the Lord. We can all be that woman!

Sadly, there are so many women who are failing to take up these attributes. It is up to us that fit the category in Titus 2:3 to explain to women the many benefits gained from becoming a virtuous woman

³ Older women similarly are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor addicted to much wine, teaching what is right and good, ⁴ so that they may encourage the young women to tenderly love their husbands and their children, ⁵ to be sensible, pure, makers of a home [where God is honored], good-natured, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored. Titus 2:3 (AMP)

And for all people, male and female there is a benefit package out of this world in serving the Lord Jesus:

Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul,
And do not forget any of His benefits;
³ Who forgives all your sins,
Who heals all your diseases;
⁴ Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you [lavishly] with lovingkindness and tender mercy;
⁵ Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the [soaring] eagle. Psalm 103:2b-5 (AMP)
