Let’s Get Our Hearts Right, Now!
Doctors (and other professionals) give us many things to do in order to make sure that we keep our hearts healthy. We’re advised to cut out or lower the intake of things from our diets like salt and saturated fats. We’re told what to add to our diets like fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. We’re instructed to exercise or stretch (maybe trying yoga) and to take hot baths to help lower our blood pressure. We’re told to quit smoking. We’re given what to eat and drink and what not to eat and drink. We’re even told to do things like take up a hobby and other fun things like dancing. Folks in the medical field, as well as nutritionists, dieticians and fitness instructors, make sure that we have all the information we need to help keep our hearts healthy. Are we following these instructions? If not, we can always start NOW. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to end up with heart disease knowing I could have changed my lifestyle to prevent it.
The Bible does the same thing. It tells us everything we need to know about how to have a clean heart. Are we following God’s instructions? If not, as long as we have breath in our body, we can start NOW. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to end up with a hardened heart and not spend eternity with the Father knowing he gave me chance, after chance, after chance to get it right. This week, on the HeartLife Ministries’ Prayer Line, we are going to pray on ways to keep our hearts clean. God, purify our hearts.
God Bless,
Shawn Smith
Thank you so much, Dr. Crawford (Mother Maria 😁) for being an inspiration.
