NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER – MAY 6, 2021
Today is an opportunity to join with people of faith all over the world to pray for the greatest nation in the world! While it is far from perfect, the grace and favor extended upon this nation to become not only the wealthiest nation in the world, but the most powerful is something that has to be noted. However, with wealth and power come responsibility, a responsibility that should not be left in the hands of those who don’t know the God who chose this nation to be a light to the world!
Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people whom He has chosen as His own inheritance. Psalm 33:12 (AMP)
One of the mistakes mankind makes is feeling as if somehow their destiny lies in their own hands. Far too many in this world fail to consider that their very existence is due to the grace of God. Certainly in this post-pandemic era, more consciousness should be realized that very little is in our control. That we are in fact still here, by the grace of God.
It is this grace that we, who do know God, should appeal to. Our nation needs to recognize that for some reason we have been favored with the best of everything. Rather than patting ourselves on the back, we need to fall on our faces and repent of our sins, individual and corporate. We need to petition God for His help in stemming the tide of perversion and insanity that seems to be sweeping over our nation. We used to say that people want to make right wrong, and wrong, right. Today it extends so much further than that -today we want to change men into women and women into men and not identify a child’s gender at birth, but wait until they decide who they are – physical anatomy ignored.
This is a day to celebrate life; yet it also a day to mourn for so many lives who are having trouble identifying just what this life is all about. Today is a day to pray that this nation, our nation would be able to say, that we are a nation blessed of the Lord, and we are a people chosen as His own inheritance, willing to do HIs will!
