A Hundred Little Things Each Day!

I cam across this scripture today and thought I’d share it:

Even an ox knows its owner, and a donkey recognizes its master’s care— but Israel doesn’t know its master. My people don’t recognize my care for them.” Isaiah 1:3 (NLT)

I really heard a message from that. If you take a moment you can think of hundreds, perhaps even thousands of things God does for us each day, that we never thank Him for. How about beginning with waking up, with breathing air that we did not provide; getting up out of a bed In a dwelling that in some way or another God had a hand in providing for you. You go to the washroom and utilize a plumbing system that took a hundred years to perfect, and of which even in the 1940’s only half the houses in this country had piped water, a bathtub, and a toilet that flushed!

After taking care of morning essentials, you go to another room, (probably in another part of the house), and eat a breakfast of your choice. You don’t have to pick it, and probably don’t even have to cook it – if you desire a cooked breakfast you can bake it, fry it or nuke it! Shall I go on – we haven’t even got past the first hour of your day?

Needless to say, even the most unfortunate in this country live better than more than 50 percent of the world! We abound in blessings. And we take them for granted. While we may feel as if we have them because we work hard, or have otherwise been privileged to achieve these blessings, the truth is we get our blessings from God. It is His grace, His mercy, it is His creation and all that is in it.

Why we can never repay God for all of His goodness towards us (something He does not require of us anyway), what He does appreciate is a thankful and grateful heart. What if we were to write a list of the things that God provides just in one day, No doubt we would reach the hundreds.

Another song ringing in my heart:

My Tribute by Andrae Crouch

How can I say thanks
For the things You have done for me?
Things so undeserved
Yet You gave to prove Your love for me
The voices of a million angels
Could not express my gratitude
All that I am and ever hope to be
I owe it all to TheeTo God be the glory

To God be the glory
To God be the glory
For the things He has done…
