And the Promise is…

When I am believing for something, especially something that seems to be impossible, I try to get a scripture to hang onto. One of my favorite handles is Isaiah 43:18-21:

“Stop dwelling on the past.
Don’t even remember these former things.
19 I am doing something brand new, something unheard of.
Even now it sprouts and grows and matures.
    Don’t you perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and open up flowing streams in the desert.
20 Wild beasts, jackals, and owls will glorify me.
For I supply streams of water in the desert
    and rivers in the wilderness
to satisfy the thirst of my people, my chosen ones,
21 so that you, whom I have shaped and formed for myself,
will proclaim my praise. Isaiah 43:18-21 (TPT)

And of course, I add this onto it:

Then you will know that I am Yahweh,
and I will never disappoint those
who entwine their hearts with mine.” Isaiah 49:23 (TPT)

These scriptures are a confidence builder. They not only give me hope, but assurance that God is shaping the outcome so that it will not disappoint me.

Does that mean I will always have things the way that I plan? Fortunately, NO! Most times God has something so much better than I could even imagine! Trusting Him to work out my situation means that I can’t give Him a blanket request, with no wiggle room for Him to surprise me. I can testify to the fact that when I do that, I am blessed beyond measure. Why not give God your impossible, today?
