I Am Facing A Dilemma!
I am currently facing a moral dilemma – not that I am choosing whether or not to sin, rather how chummy should I be with those who sin. The question of course is WWJD? (What Would Jesus Do)? Could there be an answer in scripture:
10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? Matthew 9:10-11 (KJV)
If you want to know the answer, you can find it somewhere in scripture. While pondering my own dilemma, this scripture came to mind. While it doesn’t say that Jesus became best friends with publicans and sinners, one thing he didn’t do was cast them out.
One problem the church has today is a spirit of forgetfulness. We forget that “such were some of us”. We have all been saved from SOMEthing! SOMEbody had to go to where we were to bring us out (few of us came out just because we got a God idea). Someone labored with us, taking the insults, the rejections, the ridicule – and they stayed with us until that seed was planted (when God said it was so). It was not easy. There was unconditional love involved in rescuing us from the grips of the enemy and most of all they had to see what mess we were in without judging us as a wretch impossible!
I have my answer to my dilemma – given the opportunity, I’m going to do WHAT JESUS DID, and I’m going to pray hard that I’ll see the results that Jesus saw!
