Vigilance – Morning and Evening!

It seems as if the length of a day has increased. There is so much work to do, even after you clock out from work – there is FB, Twitter, Instagram, Marco Polo and so on that have to be attended to. It seems as if there is not enough time to do all that we need to do!

While those aforementioned might not be the best use of our time, it is for certain that you should not cut off your day at 5 p.m.:

Just as you do not know the way and path of the wind or how the bones are formed in the womb of a pregnant woman, even so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things.

Sow your seed in the morning and do not be idle with your hands in the evening, for you do not know whether morning or evening planting will succeed, whether this or that, or whether both alike will be good. Ecclesiastes 11:5-6 (AMP)

The Preacher Solomon said these words. Said to be the wisest man who ever lived up until his time, maybe we should pay attention to these words. For in fact we don’t know when or how God will move; we can’t set a time clock as to when He will give revelation. Praying in season and out of season is a habit we all need to employ.

Consistency in our walk is every bit as important as consistency in our diet. While we can enjoy an occasional day of relaxation, even as Solomon says in another passage:

The lazy man does not plow when the winter [planting] season arrives;
So he begs at the [next] harvest and has nothing [to reap]. Proverbs 20:4 (NLT)

All work is not physical labor – some work is planning, some is praying, some is waiting…whatever the activity- be vigilant about it day and night!
