Looking Through A New Lens!

Sometimes our eyes get to the point where nothing else will do but a trip to the eye doctor to get new lens for our glasses. As we get older, it may even become necessary to get cataracts removed! Time brings about a change – our eyes are not exempt. It is equally true with our inner eye- the eye that sees perspective. Time brings about a change in our perspective. It is often clouded with the things we hear and see on a daily basis. Sometimes our perspective gets jaded – too much negativity and we need cataract removal off of our hearts.

One of my favorite verses is found in Romans the faith chapter the first 2 verses. As I reflected on it, I wondered what it looked like in The Passion Translation:

Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace  with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us. Our faith guarantees us permanent access into this marvelous kindness that has given us a perfect relationship with God. What incredible joy bursts forth within us as we keep on celebrating our hope of experiencing God’s glory! Romans 5;1-2 (TPT)

This brought for me fresh revelation – all because of our faith in Jesus, God has had the cataracts removed off of His eyes in our regard- He sees us through the blood of Jesus – pure, holy, free from sin. We have been given “permanent access” into the kindness of God’s invitation for relationship with HIm. Even more, we get to share in experiencing the glory of God – over and over!

This sounds like good news to me! Not once in that passage did I see where we have bring anything to this relationship except our faith in the finished work of Christ Jesus! A contract like this is almost too good to be true. Yet it is true, and has been passed down through the generations, still offering a signature line for us to sign. When we see clearly the life we keep trying to live on our own, and then get a glimpse of what kind of life is offered to us by God – it doesn’t take much to realize that everything has been stacked in our favor – and though favor is rarely fair – it’s fabulous for us!
