Wait on The Lord!
At present I am in Minnesota visiting the home of my youngest son, his wife and family. They recently moved into their first home purchase. It was an exciting time for them, but it was very exciting for me as well, for I have many prayers written down beseeching God on their behalf. We pray, and then pray some more; we wonder if that prayer will ever come to pass. And then SUDDENLY, everything lines up – and that prayer manifests in our sight!
So don’t be impatient for Yahweh to act;
keep moving forward steadily in his ways,
and he will exalt you to possess the land. Psalm 37:34 (TPT)
I loved this passage, because not only have I seen it fulfilled in my life, over and over – I am witnessing how it is being fulfilled in the life of my children and their children. God is faithful to perform that which concerns us. The challenge is not to set a time limit on God – instead wait on Him to move in His time!
My youngest son and his wife went to countless houses in their area seeking to find a place for their four children to grow up in. They wanted to stay in a certain location so the children could continue at their school. Time and again they were disappointed, as one house or another that they liked, was either snatched from them before they could put in a contract, or someone outbid them so the owner would refuse their offer. They even put contracts on a couple of houses, certain that they would come through. Again, they were disappointed, as one thing or another impeded their getting the house.
When this present house came available, it was so perfect for them, I was certain they would get it – and of course they did! God has an appointed time, an appointed place, and an appointed answer to our every prayer request. Our job is merely to wait on Him and praise Him in the wait:
Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord. Psalm 27:14 (AMP)
Maria
Great testimony of God’s faithfulness!! Praise God!! Enjoy your time with David’s family!
