So Will I…
Have you ever really listened to the contemporary worship song put out by Hillsong entitled, “So Will I”? Even the first stanza takes me to a place where I have to worship:
So Will I (100 Billion X)Song by Hillsong Worship
God of creation
There at the start
Before the beginning of time
With no point of reference
You spoke to the dark
And fleshed out the wonder of light
And as You speak
A hundred billion galaxies are born
In the vapour of Your breath the planets form
If the stars were made to worship, so will I…
Songwriters: Joel Houston / Michael Fatkin / Benjamin Hastings
We talked this week about God speaking – what a voice to bring into existence a hundred billion galaxies! To think we are surrounded by planets and stars billions of miles away that drape our skies and cause us to be reminded of the wonder of our God.
And this same God, in all of HIs majesty and splendor, stops to comfort the heart of a speck of a human being here on earth who is broken-hearted because they lost someone they love. Tough, yet tender; mighty, yet humble; with everything word you can say about God, there is an antonym. You won’t find enough words to describe the brilliance, the luminous, the amazing, the ingenuous, the magnificent expressions of our God.
To worship Him is a small thing. To live for Him is better. Yet, we find a struggle wanting to do good, and yet finding ourselves doing less than good. The author of Romans declares himself wretched in Romans 7, until he turns the page and declares:
So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One.2 For the “law” of the Spirit of life flowing through the anointing of Jesus has liberated us[b] from the “law” of sin and death. 3 For God achieved what the law was unable to accomplish, because the law was limited by the weakness of human nature.
Yet God sent us his Son in human form to identify with human weakness. Clothed with humanity, God’s Son gave his body to be the sin-offering so that God could once and for all condemn the guilt and power of sin. 4 So now every righteous requirement of the law can be fulfilled through the Anointed One living his life in us. And we are free to live, not according to our flesh, but by the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit! Romans 8:1-4 (TPT)
Maria
Praise God for His son to come down and come in a human form. This allows us to have a second chance to be in Heaven even though we have human weaknesses!
I remember a couple years ago you told me about this song. It’s been on my worship playlist ever since. I agree, you can’t help but to worship when you hear it.
