Please Follow This…

There are some things that Jesus said that no matter what denomination or what doctrine you hold fast to, it should be followed. One of them is in Luke 18:1:

Now Jesus was telling the disciples a parable to make the point that at all times they ought to pray and not give up and lose heart,

If you look at the news, listen to the news, or even open your computer, you know that there is bad news every day. If it is not the upsurge in the Delta variant, it is the horrific news coming out of Afghanistan. While we might have some ideas how these things should be handled, most of us are not in a position to change one thing about what is going on in our world. At least not from a natural point of view.

Jesus has given us the key to be a front row voice for any and all situations pray at all times. While we say that we do this, how often do we find ourselves saying, “I guess there’s nothing to do but pray!” This is not the attitude that we should have. we should pray with all fervency and expectation and “not give up and lose heart”. Prayer should be the first thing we do, not the last. And if there were ever a time when we need to follow this, it is now, today!

God is never in crisis – we are -remember Jesus response to the disciples when they were in a boat going through a storm:

So they set sail, and when they were under way he dropped off to sleep. Then a squall of wind swept down upon the lake and they were in grave danger of being swamped. Coming forward, they woke him up, saying. “Master, master, we’re drowning!” Then he got up and reprimanded the wind and the stormy waters, and they died down, and everything was still. Then he said to them, “What has happened to your faith?” Luke 8:25 (PHILLIPS)

Our faith must rest in the ability of God to calm the storm, upon our request! God’s covenant with man ensured that man would have free will, He only intervenes as we request His help. Yesterday I was reminded of it. Last week I lost a valuable earring. I searched high and low and could not find it. As I set out to buy another pair, I prayed again, “Lord you know where my earring is, please let me locate it.”

Yesterday I went to my daughter’s and over the course of the day she was getting up debris around her house. Suddenly she came to me and said, “you will never guess what I found”; I said, “my earring”. And that answer was exactly right. I don’t know how it got in that part of her yard, I wasn’t even out there. It does not matter to me. God answered my prayer. If He is concerned enough about our affairs to locate my earring, how much more will He save much people alive, through our prayers. Let’s pray saints~
