This is My Prayer Today!

I am feeling blessed these September days. I live in the Midwest and I know full well that winter is coming, but how thankful I am for these wonderfully refreshing days we have had. The blue skies, the balmy weather, the calm that seems to have settled – we don’t take these things for granted. Yet, we are aware that not only should these days be treasured, but they should also be bathed in prayer:

So they will fear the name of the Lord from the west And His glory from the rising of the sun. For He will come in like a narrow, rushing stream Which the breath of the Lord drives [overwhelming the enemy]. Isaiah 59:19 (AMP)

This passage speaks to me like a prophetic prayer. Lord, that we in the west should recognize His glory from the rising of the sun, to the setting of the same. That we would recognize though God may not always come in thunderous glory, that nonetheless He is driving out and overwhelming the enemy. This is my prayer this day. Come Lord Jesus, both in your glory and in your power to drive out the enemy and convict your people to rise up and declare the wonderful works of the Lord.

For though you may now be experiencing Goshen, there are those around us who are heartbroken. There are those who have suffered great loss; who are enduring threats and attacks beyond what we can comprehend. There are those who are fearful due to their living situations. There are those who are in need of daily substance. Our prayer extends to them today. For we remember that in our own life there were days of lack; there were days of fear; there were days of loss. In those times sometimes an angel came in the flesh to encourage us. However, sometimes we were ministered to by the Holy Spirit, with gentle words or a reassuring song. God, do it for someone today, even as you have done it for me, so many times. Stretch your arms across our city, our nation, our world – may revival once more and again shake the very foundation of this earth!

Yes, I’m thanking God for beautiful days, and I am beseeching Him to let all the earth come to know His glory!

Maria
