He Is Our All and All!
As an educator I have run across all ability levels at one time or another. As a Christian I have run across these same kinds of ability levels, but see a much different return. One of the wisest men I knew was a man who have never completed the ninth grade. He had more than “mother-wit”, He had God-given wisdom:
30 For it is not from man that we draw our life but from God as we are being joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. And now he is our God-given wisdom, our virtue, our holiness, and our redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30 (TPT)
Each of us are born with unique talents and abilities and with that alone we can go far in this world. However, when we draw our life from God and join ourselves with the Anointed One, we have more than natural ability, we have the very wisdom of God flowing within us. More than that we also possess His ability to be the kind of person that walks in integrity and holiness because we have been redeemed from our sinful nature and have taken on His nature.
This is good news! There are many smart people in this world who have excelled in their vocation. These same people may or may not be nice people. Instead they may be arrogant and mean; looking down at others, despising those who cannot seem to rise to their level.
All the wisdom and knowledge in the world cannot give you a kind and a compassionate heart. Only yielding our lives to the God of our salvation will help us to become the kind of person that we need to be. And of course the other by-product is that whatever we’ve been blessed with when we were born, only intensifies when we have the indwelling Holy Spirit – He is a leader, a guide, a truth-bearer, a knowledgeable friend.
We’re in real good hands when we abide in the Vine called Jesus!
Maria
AMEN!
