If It’s God, It’s Life Giving!

There is one way to know when the Spirit of God is at work, is it producing life, or is it bringing about death:

He alone makes us adequate ministers who are focused on an entirely new covenant. Our ministry is not based on the letter of the law but through the power of the Spirit. The letter of the law kills, but the Spirit pours out life. 2Corinthians 3:6

There are many ways that ministers speak to their congregations. Some try an approach of instilling fear in the congregants, more of a hell and damnation type of delivery. Some want the members of the church to follow a closely devised set of rules, with everyone having to keep in step. Some preachers take a more relaxed approach to the gospel, emphasizing grace, maybe even to the extent of righteousness. There is no set way to preach the gospel, but one thing is certain, if it not giving life, it’s not the best of what God wants for His children.

The Psalmist declared:

So I’m thanking you with all my heart,
with gratitude for all you’ve done.
I will do everything I’ve promised you, Lord.
13 For you have saved my soul from death
    and my feet from stumbling
so that I can walk before the Lord
bathed in his life-giving light. Psalm 56:12-13 (TPT)

Jesus said:

Then Jesus said, “I am light to the world, and those who embrace me will experience life-giving light, and they will never walk in darkness.” John 8:12 (TPT)

The Apostle Paul said:

This gospel unveils a continual revelation of God’s righteousness—a perfect righteousness given to us when we believe. And it moves us from receiving life throgh faith, to the power of living by faith. This is what the Scripture means when it says: “We are right with God through life-giving faith!” Romans 1L17 (TPT)

All of these scriptures point to the life-producing, life-giving power of God, flowing through us and revealing itself in our faith. Life that not only saves our soul from death, but guides us on a journey of life and love and joy and peace, fruitfulness, helping to fulfill our destiny:

“…may he work perfection into every part of you giving you all that you need to fulfill your destiny. And may he express through you all that is excellent and pleasing to him through your life-union with Jesus the Anointed One who is to receive all glory forever! Amen!

Amen and Amen,

Maria
