We Have Friends In High Places!
There are times when we are grateful for salvation, and then there are times we are really grateful for our salvation. The benefits of our salvation are endless, but one that is on my mind today:
For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin. Hebrews 4:15 (AMP)
Now this is a benefit, to have someone in the highest of places not only understand our weaknesses and temptations, but He was able to do it without sin, and in so doing made It possible for us to get victory over those weaknesses and temptations.
Life’s journeys take us on hills and valleys. And as we travel those lands, we never know what we will find. Thank God our friend knows about that too. He is able to able to not only see what we are walking into, but He also sees what is the end. He is a gentle shepherd who will lead us onto the pathways where righteousness and peace and victory abide.
So, I hear a song playing in my heart:
Friends in High Places by Larnelle Harris
I’ve got hope when things look bad
And I can smile when I should be sad
I’ve got friends who lift me up when I’m feeling low
And they watch over me wherever I may go
I’ve got friends in high places
So high but not so far away
I’ve got friends in high places
And I’m gonna be with them someday
There’s the Father right by His Son
And the angels, each and everyone
And other friends I miss so much and I long to see
But knowing ill be with them one day comforts me
I’ve got friends in high placesSo high but not so far away
I’ve got friends in high places
And I’m gonna be with them someday…
Maria
It feels good to confide in someone who knows what you’re going through.
Praise God for this encouraging word Maria! Amen!
