He Sees Me…

Over the last couple of weeks I have been a woman of few words. There are times when life’s events take you to a place where there are no words adequate to express your feelings. I tried to go on a few times and write a post, but my heart was heavy with the loss of one of my grandsons, who left too soon.

Even now I feel no compulsion to speak, yet, as writing often releases something that is pent up in me, I decided to write this post on a Saturday. I talked to a friend this morning who reminded me of one of my favorite scriptures:

As a result of this encounter, Hagar decided to give the Eternal One who had spoken to her a special name because He had seen her in her misery. Hagar: I’m going to call You the God of Seeing because in this place I have seen the One who watches over me. Genesis 16:13 (THE VOIC

I chose The Voice translation because this more adequately expresses my sentiment, Hagar in the midst of her misery made a declaration to establish a monument to the “God of Seeing”, because in that place she saw the One who was watching over her.

As we walk this journey called life, we encounter places where we could say, “God is not here” – “I am alone in this”. Yet, our merciful and loving Father shows up and we see that He really did see us, even now…even there…

There’s no place that God does not see, there is no place that God does not care, there is no place that He is not watching over us. The Psalmist said:

Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead), behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the dawn,
If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
Even there Your hand will lead me,
And Your right hand will take hold of me. Psalm 139:7-10 (AMP)

I take comfort in this today. God you see – me!

Maria

    This is an awesome word. Really resonated with me. God is all we need, He sees, He cares and loves us.
