Spring Up Oh Well!
It is a wonderful thing when you wake up and hear a Word in your spirit that is just like a liquid vitamin. This is how I felt this morning as I heard these words:
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 14:14 (KJV)
The response in my spirit was the children’s song I heard in Vacation Bible School, “spring up oh well”!
For me, the Word of God has been more than something I had to do as part of my “Christian” life. For me, it has been life itself. As the words flow from the pages of the Bible into me, it causes something to shift in me, something that needs to shift.
A few years ago, (maybe more than a few) there was a great deal written on personality types. So there was talk about sanguine, phlegmatic, choleric, and melancholic personality types. I am not going into detail about these, for that is not my intent today. My intent is merely to say that there are different personality types, some as creative as the lines that make up our fingerprints. This being said, some of us need a daily reminder of the promises of God. Some us need the encouragement it brings, some of us need the vision it brings. All of us need the Spirit of God that it brings.
Thus when we see the words that those who drink of the water that Jesus gives, shall never thirst, it ponders a question first -how can this be? Until we taste, taste and see that the Lord is good – then we know – we know that if we drink of the water of the word, it will be a well of water springing up unto life everlasting, for that water is life reproducing life every hour, every day, through all eternity!
SPRING UP Oh WELL!
