Looking For the New!by Neesha Stringfellow

16-21 This is what God says,
    the God who builds a road right through the ocean,
    who carves a path through pounding waves,
The God who summons horses and chariots and armies—
    they lie down and then can’t get up;
    they’re snuffed out like so many candles:
“Forget about what’s happened;
    don’t keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.
    It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?
There it is! I’m making a road through the desert,
    rivers in the badlands.
Wild animals will say ‘Thank you!’
    —the coyotes and the buzzards—
Because I provided water in the desert,
    rivers through the sun-baked earth,
Drinking water for the people I chose,
    the people I made especially for myself,
    a people custom-made to praise me. Isaiah 43:19-21 (MSG)

The anticipation of something new is always exciting. A new gift, new baby, new opportunity, a new job, a new miracle, a new perspective. The thought of all of these things excites me for sure, however more than anything the allowance God gives me for a brand new day is one thing I appreciate and am forever grateful. The one thing this time of year I hear people anticipate most is the NEW YEAR. No matter what the year has brought, no matter how good the year was or how bad as we get to the end of the year people always say…… I can’t wait until the new year.

The year of 2021 was by far one of the hardest in my entire life. I know people can exaggerate but if I have ever wanted God to do a new thing, it’s been now! I hold fast to God’s word and I believe it with every fiber of my being.  The word of the Lord came through the prophet Isaiah. Sometimes we need to hear a new fresh word in order for us to be carried to our next season. I personally take the words of Isaiah 43 very seriously.  In every spiritual and emotional area of my life, I am looking for the new to show up. I would like you to receive the same instructions the Lord gave in Isaiah, be awake, be alert, be on the lookout, and definitely be present for the New Year, for the new thing God is doing in our lives.

Begin to praise the Lord also while writing down all of the new things that are about to spring forth.

I am open to the NEW! How about you?

God Bless You
