A Big Brother and an Army Too!

When I was a little girl I was afraid of walking the streets. You see it was several blocks to get to school from my house, and at that time you went home for lunch. That meant having to walk four times through what I knew were dangerous streets. In addition, my step-father would send me out of the house at night to walk a few blocks to the store to purchase milk. I was terribly afraid, but I was more afraid of my step father’s wrath to say anything.

Fear became a constant companion when I would go to unfamiliar places. Yet, as I grew up, if I was going to go anywhere, it was usually by myself, so I had to get it together – and go!

What I didn’t know at that time was that I was not really alone. I believe that even before I came to know of Him, I believe now that God was watching over me. There were too many times, too many instances when it had to be a God. Now that I’ve come to know Him, and a little bit about HIs Word I find out that I can say “good-bye to fear”, for I not only have a big brother who is King over all the universe, but He has an army of angels that are at HIs disposal, and mine:

1Are not all the angels ministering spirits sent out [by God] to serve (accompany, protect) those who will inherit salvation? [Of course they are!] Hebrews 1:14 (TPT)

We, who have chosen to receive Jesus into our life are never alone, and if there is trouble afoot, He has command of legions of angels who can come to our defense. This knowledge has kept me in some pretty scary situations. Even now in this pandemic when we are fighting such a deadly, though unseen enemy, I have to believe that my heavenly Father is watching o-ver me!

The good news is that He is not a respecter of persons. HE is there for all who will call upon HIs Name. Let us not only call upon Him for ourselves, but let us pray for every little girl and boy, as well as every big girl and boy who find themselves in scary situations.
