There IS A Plan!
There are days when we are in the throes of winter that you wonder, “does God have a plan for my life”. While the balmy days of summer may help us digress from this question – there is ample time in the winter to ponder it, for there is little or no escape plan. How comforting when we can go to the scripture and find passages like this;
8 For by grace you have been saved by faith. Nothing you did could ever earn this salvation, for it was the love gift from God that brought us to Christ! 9 So no one will ever be able to boast, for salvation is never a reward for good works or human striving.
10 We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it! Ephesians 2:8(TPT)
Salvation not only brought about eternal redemption, it also included a very precise life-on-earth plan. And just as we can’t earn, or boast about our salvation, neither can we earn or boast about His plan for our lives while on earth. Each of us has a God-given destiny that He knows would bring us fulfillment and give Him glory. He knows what it will take for the vocation we should aspire to, and has already made the way. He knows the days of our lives so He already has a retirement plan that is fit for you to live out your days in comfort.
The real challenge is that it is not written out and handed to us. We have to seek Him for it. Jeremiah 29:11 is a familiar passage that gives us a great promise, but few go beyond that to verse 12 and 13;
Here is verse 11:
11 For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Here is verse 12 and 13:
12 Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. 13 Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. (AMP)
Believing the promise in verse 11 precedes the work in verses 12 and 13. We must seek the Lord with all our heart for the assured promise! Is it a hard thing to seek the Lord?
