Classical Music, A Comfortable Chair, And A Book!

This is my idea of the good life! I could spend hours curled up in a chair, reading a book with some quiet instrumental music in the background. Each of us have those things that enable us to get away from it all, relax, maybe even refresh. Yet the real world continues to close in on us, pressing us to do more, to be more, to just….

While the world clamors for our attention, God is quietly waiting for us to acknowledge Him:

Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be shaken. Psalm 62:5-6 (NLT)

When we can come to the place where we discipline ourselves enough to say that “I am waiting before God”– then true fellowship takes place. Real communication can only take place when both parties are willing to engage with the other.

As the Psalmist says above, “He alone is my rock and my salvation” – where else can we go for this kind of security? Our world continues to experience a shaking, only by sitting in HIs comfortable chair, listening to the music of heaven, and reading His Book will we find a fortress that will not be shaken.
