Even, If..

One sure sign of receiving Jesus is an overwhelming desire within that, “everybody ought to know who Jesus is”. Speaking forth the word of life is important, but seldom do we understand the power we also exude when we surrender to living the Christian life to its’ fullness. It has an effect on everyone around us.

What is so significant about this is that the ones we want to influence the most are usually our family, and even if it looks as if they are not paying attention, in reality they are. The impact that our daily decisions for Christ have on their live is immeasurable, until such a time as it is tested. When it is tested we see a marvelous thing, we see them doing the things by rote that we do intentionally.

Israel saw this time and again in their history in the OldTestament. When they were challenged by being forced into bondage by other nations, they held to the assurance that even so, their children would come through:

Even though I will scatter them among the nations, they will remember Me in faraway lands. They will make sure their children will survive to return one day. Zechariah 10:9 (The Voice)

While it seems as this scripture indicates a forced action, it is not really forced. Children learn by precept and example. What we present before them, what we speak in their presence, what we intentionally teach them, will reap the benefits we hope for. The prophet Zechariah spoke an ageless truth, no matter where our children wander, if we put with in them the Word of God, they will have what they need both to survive, and to return to the God of their salvation.
