God’s Plans!

There are two types of plans, God’s plans and our plans. Which one will get the right of way depends on you. You are the one who decides who will sit on the throne of your heart guiding your actions. What is important to realize however is that there is only one plan that will always work out:

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:11-13 (KJV)

The above passage says that the thoughts of God are not only thoughts of peace, but they are thoughts that will lead to an “expected end”. The thoughts of God are fully developed, but not guaranteed. They can only be guaranteed when we have bought into them, and determined to follow the manufacturer’s design.

So often you hear people railing against God, wondering why He failed to perform some dream of theirs. They never say, I did everything He told me to, because they didn’t. They wanted God to bless their plan after they had already set it in motion. This is not the way of the Kingdom of God.

In this same passage we see the process to take to achieve the “expected end” – we have to seek God with our whole heart. Then and only then will we find Him – and in finding Him we will find that perfect plan for our lives.
