Are You Keeping Your Covenant?
For the past three days my internet has been going in and out. Just when it was time for me to think about posting for the day – there would be no internet service. To say that I was frustrated would indeed be an understatement. Even now, my computer is receiving service from my phone!
I decided that this evening I was going to post while I had service, even if it is late in the day. Running across the following scripture has motivated me even more to fight the enemy of my soul who would dare to keep me from doing what I have been called to do:
“NOW THEREFORE, IF YOU WILL INDEED OBEY MY
VOICE AND KEEP MY COVENANT, THEN YOU SHALL
BE A SPECIAL TREASURE TO ME ABOVE ALL-PEOPLE: EXODUS 19:5-6
This scripture denotes a covenant in which the covenant maker laid out the terms of an agreement, if the receiver of the covenant accepts them it will give them high value and a special recognition above all people.
We know that Israel failed many times in obeying this covenant. Yet, it is interesting that the one who instituted the covenant yet stands with His arms stretched wide. So wide indeed that they have been enlarged to receive thousands upon thousands more.
So no longer is it the little nation singled out; instead, it is the “whosoever will, let them come”. Generations upon generations have been made subject to the ways of the Lord and in this hour, the entire world is in anticipation of something great.
For the believer the promise is still simple, obey the covenant and reap untod benefits above all other peoples. Although it won’t be measured by the weight of gold in your pouch, or the silver in your hand – the list of answered prayers will be your legacy, and your children’s children’s children will also know the Lord, making you a rich treasure indeed!
Maria
This blessed me today. Especially the part of answered prayers will be my legacy. I’m trusting and believing.
Yes, we are His special treasure.
