Summer Has Come!

One of the things that brings me great pleasure is to be outside when the sun is shining and the weather is warm. After staying too many days in the house during the winter, I am like a caged animal set free, I want to enjoy the season.

One of the things that I appreciate most about summer is the fact that it shows the handiwork of our God. As much as man is trying he can’t replicate the snow and the rain that fall from heaven and the strong rays sunshine providing warmth in the summer. There are things that belong only to God:

The day is yours, and yours also the night;
    you established the sun and moon.
17 It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth;
    you made both summer and winter.

I love the way that God has graduated time to include day, then night – summer, then winter. As the darkness of night fades with the light of day, hope rises within me. I think that today might be a day unlike any other day – what possibilities await?

Admittedly there is much tragedy going on in the world. In fact you don’t have to look further than the gas pump and get depressed for the millions of people that need transportation to get them and their children around and how can a family afford such prices? You can listen to the news and be filled with all kinds of horror taking place. You can be inundated with bad news, if you choose.

Yet, I choose joy. I choose to think and then to pray that God will bring solutions to the many things that are plaguing our world. That there are yet Godly people who care enough to dig deep to find solutions. For some, working at home has become an option that I’m sure they are grateful for with a million different reasons.

Yet, there are so many who can’t work from home, because their work is at a store, or a factory, or a hospital, or a school. While I don’t have a solution, I do have a heart to pray that God will help them.

It is you Father that I turn, and ask that families all over the globe will have revealed to them creative ways to meet the challenges they face at the supermarket, at the gas station, at the doctor’s office. Father you told us in your word that until you come again, there would seedtime and harvest. That speaks to me that there will opportunity for your creation to be provided for with the essentials of life and living. Father I thank you for revealings way to ease the burdens of this life so that children will be able to rejoice in the blessings of summer, and be prepared for the season of winter- it is Jesus Name that I pray – Amen.

Won’t you join me in a prayer of your own?

Maria
