To Be That Free!
This year I switched up my Bible reading and began with the New Testament. Now I am beginning to re-read the Old Testament and what stuck out in my reading today was the repeated passage of Adam and Eve being in the garden, “naked and not ashamed”.
While I prefer clothing, not the contrary, there is something about watching a little baby who has been stripped of their clothing. You may be preparing them for a bath, or just undressing them to dress them again, but they are so-o-o free. As I thought about these things I couldn’t help but think about how fearfully and wonderfully made we are- thinking on that it led me to this scripture:
Before the mountains were born Or before You had given birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are [the eternal] God. Psalm 90:2,4 (AMP)
I just love this scripture, for it epitomizes everything there can be said of God – He was, He is, He always will be – He knows everything- He is full of everything- He has set everything in motion- He loves, and loves, and loves…
If we can embrace this thought, it will give us freedom. We don’t have to be naked as a little baby to experience true freedom- for freedom comes when we fully embrace this everlasting, ever-loving God.
