Bouquets of Pencils and Instruction!

We are just a breath away from September, which traditionally marked the beginning of school. Over the years schools have started earlier, so many schools are already in session. Students have already got their book bag full of pencils and supplies, and are receiving daily instruction from their teachers.

The Word of God many, many years ago let us know something about instruction:

Those who love Your law have great peace
Nothing makes them stumble. Psalm 119:165 (AMP)

Just like the teachers in our schools are trying to impart knowledge in their students so that they will not flit around trying to find their way, so the Word of God’s instructions not only give peace, but also stability and steadfastness. It will keep us from stumbling!

The spirit of our age has convinced countless people that they have to find their own way, even though the road to their way is not based on any tested truth, it is based on “their truth”. Moral relativism has taken a back seat to people doing what they want, how they want, and when they want. Even when you drive down the expressway, you know that there are too many people who don’t believe that the Rules of the Road even exist.

What ‘s the answer? We can accept things as they are and are becoming, or we can remember the days of pencil bouquets and instruction. We can capture this present generation of children before they become contaminated by destructive desires and teach them a plain path which will keep them from stumbling, and cause them to have love, peace, and joy in their lives.
