A Humble Handmaiden!
Friday I had the opportunity to go to a CECE Winans Concert. It was an amazing evening in all respects. My take-away was not the wonderful music, though it was outstanding; nor the set designs, though they added to her performance; nor to her back-up singers, who were excellent. My major take-away came from this verse of scripture:
And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: Acts 3:28 (KJV)
What I witnessed most was a handmaiden, filled with the Spirit of God who prophesied to the sold-out audience. She did not give every single person their own prophecy, but through her music and her words of expression she prophesied to all present that there is a God who loves us with an everlasting love; a Son who gave Himself for us to be redeemed; and a Holy Spirit who is active in the world convicting our hearts and wooing us back to the Father.
The prophecy further admonished us, in a very gentle, yet firm way to turn from our sins and live a life, holy before the Lord God and man. To allow redemption to free us of our past and turn us toward a bright and glorious future walking hand in hand with the God who made us.
Now these were not her words verbatim, they are the words I heard as she spoke in her way. The words spoke to me of redemption and freedom and loving God. The concert inspired me to be more outspoken in the gift God has given me to reach a lost and dying world. Every one of us have varied and unique abilities and talents, and there is room in God’s Kingdom for them all to be used on assignment to the glory of God. You didn’t have to be at CeCe’s concert to find this message, it’s throughout the sixty-six books of God’s Word.
Maria
So glad that you were blessed by Cece Winan’s worship experience like I was Maria. It was an AWESOME nightand more than just a concert! Her prophetic words to us were so relevant and instructive for “such a time as this”. I am planning to take heed to her message like you
