This is a Surety!

There are some things in the word of God that apply to specific times and places. There are other things, really truths, that transcend time and are eternally true. The following passage is one of them:

Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. 2 Chronicles 15:2 (KJV)

As sure as you live, these words are true – whoever you are, whatever your ethnicity. Our God has promised to be with us as long as we are with Him; if we seek Him, He will be found; but, if we forsake Him, He will forsake us. It can’t get any plainer than that!

While God does not extend justice (for if He did, who could stand), He does abide by HIs covenant with man that honors the free will of man. God will not violate our right even to destroy ourselves. He needs permission from us to move in our lives. Some people fail to give it, even when their life is hanging in the balance.

Yet, for those who will turn to Him, His grace is beyond understanding. There is not a step we can take toward God, that He does not run to us. The natural man cannot conceive this. That is why so many fail to lay hold of the promises of God, they think His promises are too good to be true.

O weary traveler, a “yes” to God in that which He is asking you, is not going to bring you grief. Instead, it will open windows of heaven to pour upon you joy, unspeakable, and full of glory. Reach out and touch the Master’s Hand, He is waiting to rescue you, and keep you, and more than that to raise you up to sit in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
