Hope – Day 4
At this stage of my life my greatest hope is not for things for myself, but my hope is for the next generations. I hope that they will not succumb to the humanistic ideology trying to permeate our culture but will recognize that their life itself hinges on heeding to the fear and admonition of the Lord:
6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
8 And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God. Psalm 78:6-8 (KJV)
There are many in our day who are turning away from the truth of the Bible. There are countless others who have never been given the opportunity to even be presented with this truth. It is hard to believe with multiple Christian radio and television stations, with Bibles in abundance, with multiple churches in every community. Research from the American Family Life Survey found that less than 45% of millennial and less than 40% of Generation Z went to church with their families. This research probably does not include the forgotten population huddled en mass in the inner cities who never respond to surveys.
And yet, I hold to the promise that “there will be seedtime and harvest” until He comes again. I believe and thus I have hope that no statistic can overshadow the work of the Holy Spirit. There is a revival coming that will offer to every willing heart the life-changing, life-saving gospel of the Lord Jesus. I don’t know when it is coming, I don’t who will be the leaders, but I know that everyone who claims the name of Christ can be a participant – maybe not on the front line, maybe not through your sizable donation – everyone can participate in this soon coming miracle – on your knees…
Maria
Amen Maria claiming GREAT REVIVAL with you. I don’t know how or when.
