There Are Days Like This…

Most days I am awake at 5 a.m.; though I may not rise that early I am fully engaged in the day. Either the phone will ring or some other message is making it’s way to me. At 6 a.m. I am on the prayer line and after that the day usually officially begins for me.

There are admittedly some days when I put a hiatus on everything and as they say, ‘chill-out’. Those days are few and far between however. If I haven’t got a full schedule that I’ve planned, it doesn’t take me long to find out that somebody else seems to have planned my day. People who are in trouble, people who need favors, and sometimes 911’s ring out with unexpected situations.

I have learned to let the days play out, for God has positioned me in this season of my life to respond to the call – whenever and wherever:

Discover creative ways to encourage others and to motivate them toward acts of compassion, doing beautiful works as expressions of love. This is not the time to pull away and neglect meeting together, as some have formed the habit of doing. In fact, we should come together even more frequently, eager to encourage and urge each other onward as we anticipate that day dawning. Hebrews 10:24-25 (TPT)

Let’s face it, we are experiencing a chaotic world. No one sits down and plans for trouble. There are few who want their life disrupted with unexpected challenges. Yet, daily these things happen. As believers we are called to be “helpers, one to another“. The above verse reminds us not only to encourage one another, but not to fail meeting together. We need the strength and support of fellow beievers to get through the things we have to face.

So be a helper when you can, and don’t fail to get help when you need it. We are one faith, one Lord, one baptism.
