The Heart of the King…Are You Praying. Church?

There is a familiar proverb:

The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the Lord;
    he guides it wherever he pleases. Proverbs 21:1 (NLT)

We, in the church are acquainted with this proverb, but do we believe it? Do we believe that God interferes in the affairs of men? Do we believe that through prayer we can partner with God in shaping the outcomes of nations?

Or, are we so fixated on people, and what we think about them that we would rather be right, than see our nations preserved? As I listen to the lingo of our current day and read things on FB, and other social media, I wonder if we as the church want to see a nation that honors God. Or do we think that it is even possible?

Artemis 2 is returning to earth on tomorrow after viewing the earth from the vantage of the moon. If God is the God of all creation, as the Bible states, does not this same God care about that which He created? Are we so hung up on people that we have you not read:

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. 1Chronicles 29:11-12 (ESV)

or,

He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding; Daniel 2:21 (ESV)

I don’t know about you, but I’m going to take God’s Word over the six o’clock news any day!

Selah,

Maria
