A Word Fitly Spoken!

When I hear a true Word from God, I celebrate. Such was the case yesterday when Pastor Shanna Neal gave a word that riveted truth to me. She began to talk about the dominion man was given at creation. We all know this to be true, nothing revelatory there. However, her next statement shook me, “man was given dominion and with a conversation he lost it!” And she asked a simple question,“what kind of conversations are you having?”

Recordings went through my head of words I spoke in idle conversation, agreeing with things as it seems to be, rather than agreeing with the Word of God which says things as they are! How many times have I fallen victim to the enemies taunts that, “you will never…”, and in my feeble state of mind received that negative outcome. How many times have I spoken words over my children, family, or friends looking at what seemed to be happening, without pausing to ask God what was really happening? How many times have I looked at the current state of world affairs and felt hopeless, rather than remembering that there is One who rules and reigns over everything?

Think of your conversations, how many times have you given your inheritance rights to the enemy in a single conversation? How many times have you given into frustration and refused to keep trying, when the next time might have been the one that brought you victory?

Did God not say:

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis 1:26 (KJV)

Well, we know how that went. But then did Jesus not say:

And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Luke 10:18-20 (KJ V)

What the enemy coerced us from giving up in Genesis 1 through a conversation, Jesus gave back to us in Luke 10. Who do you choose to have a conversation with, the serpent, or Jesus? And after conversing whose report will you believe?
