Casting Not Carrying!
In this life there are at least two groups of people that deal with life’s challenges. There are those who carry the burden, worrying anxiously how to deal with whatever the situation is. Then there are those who cast those challenges into somewhere other than themselves. Some people will see overdue and final bills and hide them, thinking they will go away if they don’t see them. Some people will cast their challenges unto someone else – making it their problem. The wise will consider these words:
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 4:6-8
It is an act of humility to cast our cares unto God. For one thing, many of the things that challenge us, we had something to do with. We make bills that we don’t consult God about, or sometimes even our mates. The enemy who walks about looking to see who he may attack, sees our pressure and goes in for the jugular!
Sometimes there are challenges that are not of our making. The same principle applies, even more so. We must cast all our care upon Jesus, for ultimately, He is the main one that cares for us. We have people in our lives who love us and there are some who sincerely want to help us. However, life has a way of throwing challenges that need something outside the reach of human hands.
Thanks be unto God, there is no problem that is too big for Jesus! When we cast our care upon Him, not only does it relieve us of the stress associated with trying to figure things out. It also allows us to rest in knowing that our Jesus can fix it – no matter what.
The world today is beset with anxiety and fear – resulting in all kinds of medical issues. Let us as believers take this scripture and apply it to our lives, remembering:
“I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus,
Since I found in Him a friend so strong and true;
I would tell you how He changed my life completely,
He did something that no other friend could do.
No one ever cared for me like Jesus,
There’s no other friend so kind as He…”
