My Words!

Today I was facing a somewhat challenging day and the words of this scripture came to me::

14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14 (KJV)

Once again I realized I can state and re-state the problem, or have faith that God has a solution. When our words are filled with all the reasons why we can’t do something, this will neither help us solve the problem, nor is it acceptable to the Lord – “who is our strength, and our redeemer”! Instead of giving a litany of all the reasons why we can’t, how much better it is to rehearse all the things that God is and what God can do.

Like any good father, when we give them accolades about the great things they do for us, it brings them pride and joy and they can’t wait to do even more. How much more will our Father in glory, the One who made everything that was, and is, and is to come. When we take our problems, our challenges, and all of our concerns to Him, He graciously pours out solutions, gives additional strength when needed, and most of all He is the only One who can do the supernatural!

Our words matter, they shape our worlds and they matter to God. May we always speak life (Proverbs 18:21)! May we always speak about those things that be not, as though they were (Romans 4:17). And may we always go first to the Father of all, rather than look at our questionable abilities.

Maria
