Call It Grace!
Music stays with your soul like nothing else. Just when you need a message, the words of a song will flow out of the depths of your memory to give you a refreshing. Such was my experience last night when a song I probably haven’t heard for years rang in my heart:
It’s the breath that’s breathing new life
Into what we thought was dead
It’s the favor that takes orphans
Placing crowns upon their heads
It’s the hope for our tomorrows
The rock on which we stand
It’s a strong and mighty fortress
Even Hell can’t stand against
Some may call it foolish and impossible
But for every heart it rescues, it’s a miracle
It’s nothing less than scandalous
This love that took our place
Just call it what it is, call it grace.

The above words are a portion of the lyrics of this song, sung by UNSPOKEN. How true the lyrics, how encouraging the message. And of course the next thought that came to mind were the best news any person, any where could hear. Words of life breathed through the pen of the Apostle Paul from the Life-Giver Himself:
8 For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; Ephesians 2:8 (AMP)
Yes, it is grace – unmerited, unconditional, unending; it’s there for us to partake. The only requirement is to receive -what a bargain. I can only call it what it is, I call it grace!
